Ground Zero Games ‘Alien’ Nostromo Crew Spacesuit (I think)

I think this miniature is from Ground Zero Games (their website has been updated but with no images at the moment June 2023, of this miniature). The lack of information is because of passage of time,  I’m sure I purchased this miniature in the 1980s. Obviously the reason for acquiring this miniature is because’Alien’ is my favourite film and at the time no manufacturer had created anything close to the wonderful Moebius designed spacesuit. Nowadays especially with 3D printing, there are much better examples out there which I’m sure I’ll purchase. Anyway here after soo many years is the painted example of to my knowledge the first Alien Nostromo spacesuit in miniature.

Citadel C100 Spacefarers (NOT painted by me)

When the original Games Workshop in Hammersmith became a Warhammer shop and the old Citadel miniatures were discontinued, I was lucky enough to acquire a few painted miniatures from the amazing glass cabinet displaying all the miniatures available to buy. I have to emphasise that I did not paint these miniatures.

The 2 miniatures shown are Citadel Spacefarers C100 range, sub range C100/2 Pirates & Adventurers:   S9 Adventurer with Autolaser (left) (sculpted by Michael Perry) and S19 Street Rebel with Machine Pistol (right) (sculpted again by Michael Perry).

And rear photo.

Another 2 (the last in my collection from the shop’s cabinet) are C100/1 Citizens, S3 Star Marshall with laser rifle (right) (sculpted by Michael Perry) and C100/4 Rebel Warriors, S26 Rebel Trooper with Missile Launcher (left) (sculpted by Michael Perry). Again not painted by myself.

Ainsty Castings Valley Forge Crew Set from “Silent Running”

Ainsty Castings https://www.ainstycastings.co.uk/ (why didn’t they called themselves Ainsty miniatures 🤔) produced a set of Valley Forge (the name of the American Airlines Space Freighter) crew. Well since Silent Running is one of my favourite Sci-fi films and I started to play/ run Mothership RPG, I just had to paint them.

The sculpts are a bit dated and the heads and a few hands cam separate but had to be glued on, which was another challenge. But still not too bad and am pleased with the paint job which was pretty accurate to the colours used in the film.

I highly recommend watch this classic Sci-fi from the 1970s.

Citadel RT7 Mercenaries “No-Face Fargo”

Citadel RT7 “No-Face Fargo” from the mercenaries range from 1987. Purchased in the late 1980s and eventually got to paint him for some Sci-fi miniatures needed for myself to run Mothership RPG. Painted in 1970s orange style reminiscent of Space 1999 and X-Wing pilots of Star Wars.

Metal Magic Miniature Paladin C1020c with pole-weapon

Another old miniature bought in the 1980s that I have eventually got painted. It’s a Metal Magic Miniature Paladin C1020c with pole-weapon.

Tried this armour/steel recipe

1. Zenithal undercoat.
2. Base Coat: Vallejo Model Air Metallic Gunmetal.
3. Shade: Wash all over with Citadel Nuln Oil.
4. Highlight/ Edge Highlight: Vallejo Model Air Metallic Steel.

Happy with this.
